Abstract
The purpose of this study was to estimate the correlation between subjective assessment by coach and anaerobic power, soccer skill, and percentage of body fat in middle school soccer players. The subjects were 35 healthy soccer players in total(FW: 10, MF: 13, DF: 12). The results of this study showed that FW was significantly faster than DF in 20meter shuttle dribble and MF was significantly higher than DF in ball passing capacity. In subjective assessment by coach, athletes with less than 10% of body fat was significantly higher than those with over 15% of body fat(p=.008). The percentage of body fat had significant negative correlation with ball passing capacity(r=-.336) and subjective assessment(r=-.501). Also, anaerobic power had significant correlation with long kick(r=.522) and shooting(r=.524). Subjective assessment by coach had significant high correlation with juggling(r=.525), crossing(r=.379), shooting(r=.373), 20meter shuttle dribble (r=-479), passing(r=.578), and trapping(r=.434). It was concluded that subjective assessment by coach had significantly high correlation with percentage of body fat and soccer skill(p<.05). However, there was no significant correlation between subjective assessment and anaerobic power in middle school soccer players(p>.05).
