The Effect of The Sociodemographic Background and Participation Motive on The Dropout Factor of Sports for All Participation of The Elder

Abstract

INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the sociodemographic background and participation motive on the dropout factor of sports for all participation of the elder.
METHOD
304 old persons over 65 years old were random sampled in area of Choong nam province or Jeon-Buk. Investigation using questionnaire is used for the older persons to know the dropout factor of sports for all participation the elder for two months. To assess of he dropout factor of sports for all participation the elder, frequency analysis, factorial analysis, reliability, descript statistics, independent t-test. and one-way ANOVA were used.
RESULT
There are no difference among dropout factors of sports for all participation elder by educational background. There are significantly different in financial factor by dropout factors in spouses or not. There are significantly difference among facilities and program factors, healthy factor, financial factor in dropout factors by age, dropout factors of sports for all participation elder by vocation and gender was no difference in factor of facilities and programs. There are significantly difference among all factors by drop factors by participation motivation and dropout after participation of physical activity. There are significantly difference in finanal factor and health factor by drop factor according to participation frequence.
CONCLUSION
Facilities and programme must be prepared for old persons, who were participated in physical activities. In addition, financial factor was one of the most important factors to quit participation of physical activities in older persons. Recently, benefits of physical exercise as a non-pharmacological approach in the management older persons have been highlighted.
